With options and combos, you build composite formulas in unTill: a weekly menu with a choice of courses, or a package made up of articles with different VAT rates.
Creating a composite menu#
Follow these steps:
Log in to the back office and go to Restaurant, Article (Artikel), Articles (Artikelen).
Go to the department the menu needs to be added to.
Copy an existing article, call it 'Weekmenu' for example, and change the price. Then go to Options (Opties).
Create the first option, for example 'Weekmenu starter'. Under Available (Beschikbaar), add all sales zones: press New (Nieuw), then the three dots, and copy the next zones with Duplicate.
Add the articles: click the three dots and search the article list for the dish you want to include in the menu. Copy with Duplicate for the next articles.
Copy the option with Duplicate for the next course, for example 'Weekmenu main', and edit the articles in the same way. Repeat this for 'Weekmenu dessert'.
Do you want to charge a supplement for a choice? You can. In that case, make sure you also enter the VAT percentage.
Go back to Articles, select the weekly menu and open the Options tab. Click New, then the three dots, and select the options you just created. Copy the option to add the next question, until all courses are in.
Test on the POS: select a table, the department and the menu. The questions you created appear as a popup, and for a choice with a supplement you see the supplement included in the total.
A combination article with different VAT rates#
Think of a reception package with drinks at the high rate, drinks at the low rate and snacks from the kitchen.
Follow these steps:
Log in and go to Restaurant, Article, Department (Departement).
Copy an existing department and call it 'Arrangement dranken hoog', for example. Change the Group (Groep) to Dranken hoog using the three dots.
Delete all sales zones, so this department is not visible on the POS. Repeat this step for 'Arrangement dranken laag' (group Dranken laag) and 'Arrangement keuken' (group Keuken or Koude gerechten).
Go to the articles and copy an article. Call it 'Receptie dranken hoog', for example, set the Department to Arrangement dranken hoog and the Rank (Rang) to, for example, Bieren. Change the price and the VAT percentage.
Copy the article for 'Receptie dranken laag' and 'Receptie keuken', each time with the right department, rank, price and VAT.
Go to Combo-Promo Articles and create a new combo article, for example 'Receptie arrangement'. Under Department, choose where the arrangement needs to be visible.
Under the sales zone, add the zones via New. After the first one, you can copy them from each other.
Add the articles: press New, find the article via the three dots, change the price and VAT and confirm with Ok. Repeat this until all articles are in the package.
If you like, change the button colour and the text colour.
Test on the POS: open a table and ring up the arrangement. You see the split into the underlying articles, with one name on the receipt.
