Setting up the kiosk

With the kiosk editor, you adjust each screen of your ordering kiosk separately. Open the management page and go to Kiosk under Configuration (Configuratie). At the top you will find six tabs: Colours, Text colours, Introduction screen, Main screen, Overview screen and Pay screen.

Good to know

This guide applies to the updated kiosk editor. If you don't see those six tabs, your kiosk isn't on the latest version yet. Contact us and we will check it.

Colours and text colours#

Under Colours you set the general colours of your kiosk. Under Text colours you set the colour of titles, button texts and other text elements. Warning: that tab only changes colours. You adjust the texts themselves in the screen tabs.

The introduction screen#

This is the first thing your customer sees. At the top right, choose the language (NL, FR, EN or DE), adjust the fields for each language and click Save each time:

  • Title and intro text: your business name or a welcome title, with a short welcome text below it (formatting such as bold and lists is possible). Keep it short: your customer is waiting and won't read a whole paragraph.

  • Order options: the question above the buttons (for example "Where would you like to eat?"), and the toggles Show on site and Show takeaway with their own button texts. Do you only work with one of the two? Switch the other one off and your customer goes straight to the menu.

  • Show language selection: lets your customer switch language at the top right of the kiosk itself. If you show the language selection, fill in all active languages, otherwise your customer will end up on empty texts.

  • Ambience video: plays a video on the introduction screen instead of a still background. It draws extra attention when there is a queue.

The main screen#

The ordering screen where your customer browses your offer:

  • Title: by default "Welcome to the kiosk of [naam zaak]".

  • Show logo: your logo at the top left.

  • Show help button: if a customer presses it, the kiosk gives an audio signal so you know someone is stuck.

  • Show upselling: if you have set up an upselling category, your customer gets those suggestions for every product they add. Does this slow things down at busy times? Then switch it off.

The overview screen#

This is where your customer checks their order:

  • Show comments button: lets your customer add a comment to the order.

  • On site: tekst for name and Take away: tekst for name: if you leave it empty, the default text is used. Do you work with buzzers or table numbers? Then enter "Enter your buzzer number here": the number appears on the receipt and your kitchen knows straight away where the order has to go.

The pay screen#

Tick which payment methods are visible on your kiosk.
