Combo menus are fixed combinations at a single price: a weekly menu with starter, main course and dessert, or a meal deal with a drink, a sandwich and chips. On Unipos PLUS you enter such a menu in a flash, ideal for large groups. Combo menus also work on your webshop: your customer puts the menu together there themselves.
Creating a combo#
Go to the product overview and click the Combo button at the top right, under the button for new products.
Give the menu a name, for example "Suggestion of the day", set the fixed price and choose the category.
Add steps for each part of the menu, and for each step the items to choose from. For example, step 1 "Choose your starter" with tomato soup and broccoli soup, step 2 the main course, step 3 the dessert.
Save: the menu appears on the POS with its own combo interface that guides you through the choices step by step.
Supplements and extra choices#
Is one choice within the menu more expensive, for example lobster? In the combo editor, fill in the Supplement column next to the product: this extra price is added on the POS on top of the fixed menu price.
Options that are already set on the underlying products, such as a pepper sauce with a meat dish, are automatically charged as a supplement.
Feel free to add optional modifiers: extra choices that are not mandatory, such as extra cheese, bacon or a sauce. This makes the combo more flexible without making the choosing process more complicated.
How it works on the POS#
Tap the combo menu on the POS: a dedicated screen opens that guides you through the choices step by step. On the Left is the menu you are putting together, on the Right are the choices for each step. We configured the steps in this example ourselves: Starter and Main course are freely chosen names. You decide entirely how many steps your menu has, what they are called and which products each step contains.

Choose a dish for each step, for example the starter. On the Right you see how many choices you still need to make for each step.
Do the same for the main course. A choice with a supplement shows the extra price in red.
The supplement is added on top of the fixed menu price and also appears in the overview on the Left.
Do several guests have the same menu? Tap Duplicate: the menu you put together is copied with all its choices. With Add another menu you start an empty menu for the next guest. At the bottom, Total adds up all the menus, and with Add to receipt you put them all on the order in one go.
