You manage your range once, on the management page. Every product you create here automatically appears on your webshop, POS and kiosk. Everything starts with your categories: every product belongs to a category, so you create those first. You then set up choices such as sauces and toppings via variations and variation groups.
Creating a category#
Go to Products on the management page. On the left you see your categories.
Click New category (Nieuwe categorie) and give the category a name.
Confirm with Ok. You can always change the name later.
Managing a category#
Click a category to adjust it:
Name (Naam): change the name whenever you like.
Photo (Foto): Unikiosk is shown at the top on the ordering kiosk.
Visibility (Zichtbaarheid): Webshop untick to hide the category from the webshop.
Upselling: Webshop Unikiosk offers this category once more at the end of an online order. Ideal for desserts and drinks.
Translation (Vertaling): generate a translation automatically and check it over.
Sort categories alphabetically or manually with the sort button. Drag the products within a category into the order you want (or use the arrows). Always confirm with Save.
Warning
Deleting a category (red button) also deletes all products in that category. You can't undo this. If you only want to take a category off the webshop temporarily, untick its visibility instead of deleting it.
Quick start: quick entry#
Once your categories are ready, the fastest way to fill your range is Quick product entry (Snelingave producten): choose a category, type one product name per line, then fill in the prices. You add photos, descriptions and VAT afterwards on the product sheet.
Adjusting a product#
Go to Products on the management page and click the category on the left.
Click the pencil icon next to the product.
Adjust what you want and click Save. If you don't save, your changes are lost.
Want to make a similar product? Duplicate an existing product via the three dots next to it: the description is copied too.
The most important fields on the product sheet#
Category and product name: the name appears everywhere, on the POS, kiosk, webshop and QR menu.
Description: extra information for your customer. The AI button automatically suggests a text (after the product has been created).
Price: in euros, with a maximum of 2 digits after the decimal point. Choose a unit price or a price by weight. For weight, you also set the minimum weight and the step size.
VAT rate: Unipos PLUS can be set per product, but it is better to assign VAT per category. That way you avoid mistakes.
Images: drag in your own photos or choose one from the photo library. You decide per photo whether the customer sees it.
Different preparation time (Afwijkende bereidingstijd): Webshop if this product needs more time than your general preparation time, enter the extra minutes.
Printers: by default, every product prints on all your order ticket printers. Untick the printers where this product doesn't need to appear (for example, drinks only at the bar).
Tags: free labels to group products across categories, for example for targeted coupons.
Allergens (Allergenen): tick what applies. Your customer sees this while ordering.
Translations (Vertalingen): use the globe button to translate your name and description, automatically or manually (after the product has been created).
Allergens / info: the allergens, the food category and the spiciness, which must be visible on the webshop. See Allergens and product info.
Availability#
Temporarily sold out? Untick product is in stock (product is in stock) on the product sheet. You can also do this directly from the POS or the kitchen screen. Don't forget to tick it again.
Webshop To take a product off the webshop without deleting it, go to Products, Availability.
Is a product only available on certain days? Under not always available (niet altijd beschikbaar), tick the right days.
Working in bulk#
Select products via Products: choose a category and tick products one by one, or select everything in the category with the checkbox next to product at the top. With More actions (Meer acties) you can then run actions on the whole selection, such as linking variation groups.
How to check that it works#
Open your webshop and your POS: new categories, products and prices appear there automatically. If something isn't right, first check that you have saved.
Advance orders per product#
Some products need preparation: dishes of the day, festive dishes or made-to-order items. On the product sheet, tick This product must be ordered in advance (Dit product moet op voorhand besteld worden) and decide how much time you need:
Calendar days in advance: 1 calendar day means ordering until Thursday 23:59 for Friday. Ordering on Friday at 00:01 for that same Friday is no longer possible: the date is what counts, not 24 exact hours.
Last order time: the deadline within the day. With 1 calendar day and a last order time of 12:00, your customer can still order for Friday on Thursday at 11:59, but not at 12:01. After that time, the earliest possible order day automatically moves forward.
Hours in advance: for example, a minimum of 2 hours. Ordering at 12:00 for 14:00 works, for 13:00 it doesn't. Here the exact time difference counts.
On the webshop, your customer automatically sees only the times when the product is still available.
Do you want to sell fixed combinations at one price, such as a weekly menu or a meal deal? You do that with combo menus: especially handy on the POS, but they also work on your webshop.
