Oplossingen Events & Recreatie

WorldKarts in Kortrijk now manages its F1 Café entirely remotely with the Unipage POS system. After one day of installation and ten minutes of training per employee, the karting centre was already running at full speed.

Jonathan from WorldKarts in Kortrijk now manages the F1 Café entirely remotely, thanks to the Unipage POS system.

The karting centre is open every day of the week, including during school holidays, with a rotating team of employees who need to get up to speed quickly.

Unipage provides POS systems that allow operators to adjust stock prices and add products from home, without ever needing to be on site.

In brief:

  • WorldKarts chose Unipage after comparing several POS systems at the hospitality trade show.

  • Jonathan manages the F1 Café remotely: adjusting prices and the menu via the management panel, with changes visible immediately.

  • New staff learn the system in ten minutes thanks to the visual interface with product photos.

  • The system was fully installed and operational within one day.

  • Jonathan's advice: Don't hesitate. Just go for it.

The challenge

WorldKarts has been around for more than 25 years and is a fixture in Kortrijk and Poperinge for anyone who wants to race. From the children's circuit for little ones from age two to the professional track with qualifications, time trials and a podium for experienced drivers. After every race, everyone is welcome in the F1 Café for a well-deserved pit stop.

With a non-stop flow of visitors, seven days a week, including during school holidays, a slow or clunky POS is not an option.

The team worked for years with an outdated POS system. Slow, difficult to update, and always requiring someone on site for every change. "We were looking for something new, that was faster, better. Something we could easily update remotely," says Jonathan.

At the hospitality trade show, the team compared several brands side by side. After that evaluation, the choice fell on Unipage. "They came out best for us."

What they did

WorldKarts switched to the Unipage POS system. The installation team explained everything on site at the first handover. "Everything was installed very smoothly. After one day, we could immediately start working with the system."

The system works with product photos per item, so everyone on the team can use it straight away, even employees without hospitality experience.

Unipage also serves other businesses in the events and leisure sector that work with rotating staff and need straightforward remote management.

The difference

The biggest advantage for Jonathan is the remote management of the till.

"From home, without being on site, I can manage everything. Adjust stock prices, add products. And with a finger snap, that's immediately live in the F1 Café."

WorldKarts works with a rotating team of employees. New faces are not the exception. That makes a system that is lightning-fast to learn not a detail but a requirement. "It's not a complicated system that someone needs half a day to train on. In ten minutes, you can explain the whole system."

The visual interface with product photos lowers the barrier for everyone. "Very easy for someone who has never worked in hospitality to immediately start working with the system."

On support, Jonathan is clear: "We have a very good relationship with Unipage. Whenever something comes up, they have excellent support. They also explained everything very well on site."

His advice to other operators who are hesitant: "Don't hesitate. Just go for it. Very happy with Unipage."

Frequently asked questions

Is a Unipage POS system hard to learn for new staff?

Not at WorldKarts. Jonathan explains the system to new employees in ten minutes, thanks to the visual interface with product photos. In busy entertainment venues with rotating staff, that short onboarding time makes a concrete difference, especially during peak periods in the holidays.

Can you manage the POS system remotely?

Yes. Via the online management panel you can adjust stock prices, add products and change your menu from home or on the go. Changes are immediately visible on the till in the venue, without needing to be on site.

Why did WorldKarts choose Unipage over another POS system?

WorldKarts chose Unipage because it came out on top on three criteria: ease of use, remote management and support, after a direct comparison of several POS systems at the hospitality trade show. "They came out best for us," says Jonathan.

How long does the installation of a Unipage POS system take?

At WorldKarts, the system was installed and fully operational within one day. The installation team explained everything on site at the first handover, including a rundown for the staff.

Is a Unipage POS system suitable for leisure venues and entertainment businesses?

Yes. WorldKarts in Kortrijk, an indoor karting centre open seven days a week, manages its entire F1 Café with Unipage. The visual interface with product photos, short onboarding time for new staff and the ability to manage everything remotely make Unipage well-suited for theme parks, escape rooms, bowling centres and other leisure venues with rotating staff.

What does Unipage do when there is a problem with the POS system?

The Unipage support team is quickly reachable for technical questions and also explained everything on site at WorldKarts during the first installation. Jonathan: "We have a very good relationship with Unipage. Whenever something comes up, they have excellent support. They also explained everything very well on site."
