# Creating a product

You add a new item in the back office. Watch the instruction video, or follow the steps below.

## Steps

1. Go to **Restaurant, Article (Artikel), Items (Artikelen)**, or click **Bookmarks (Bladwijzers)** and select **Items**.
2. Select the department where you want to add the item and select a similar item. Press the **copy icon** to make a copy of the item.
3. Enter the name of the new item. Double-click the price to change it.
4. Press **OK**. The item is now on the POS.

> **Tip:** By copying instead of starting from scratch, settings such as the sales zone and the preparation area are already filled in correctly.
