# Changing VAT

You change VAT in unTill at group level. Then you check that all articles, options and combos actually use the group rate, so no old rate stays behind anywhere.

## Changing the rate of the groups

1. Open the back office and go to **Restaurant, Artikel, Groepen**.
2. Open the groups that the rate you want to change is assigned to.
3. Under **Group VAT** and **Secondary Group VAT**, change the rate to the new value.

## Making articles follow the group rate

1. Go to **Restaurant, Artikel, Artikelen**.
2. Tick all articles and choose **Mass Modify**.
3. Select the **Prices** tab (Prijzen), tick **Wijzig prijzen** and choose **New** (Nieuw).
4. Add the name of the price level. If you work with several price levels, repeat this for each level.
5. Tick **Group Vat Usage**, select **Use Group Vat** and confirm twice with **Ok**.

## Checking options

VAT rates may have been entered manually for your options.

1. Go to **Restaurant, Artikel, Opties**.
2. Open each option group and check whether amounts are filled in next to the choices.
3. Open each option article that has an amount and double-click the price.
4. Check that **Use Group Vat** is ticked. If not, turn it on and confirm with **Ok**.
5. Repeat this until you have checked all options.

## Checking combos

1. Go to **Restaurant, Artikel, Combo Promo's**.
2. Open each combo and check whether amounts are filled in next to the combo articles.
3. Open each combo article that has an amount, double-click the price and check that **Use Group Vat** is ticked. If not, turn it on and confirm with **Ok**.
4. Repeat this until you have checked all combos.
