# Activating your POS

Your POS is ready to go: activating it only takes a few minutes, and we're happy to help you personally.

## Activating your POS

1. Open Unipos PLUS on your device: Windows, iPad, Android or a Sunmi device.
2. Enter your **serial number** to link the device to your business, or log in on the iPad.
3. Choose your device type, and the POS sets itself up from there.

Don't have your serial number to hand? Call us on **+32 51 82 40 00**, or ask for a short **setup code**: we create it for you from the management page and you simply enter it on the device.

## Layout choice

Choose how the POS screen is laid out. You set the layout per POS configuration, on the management page under [POS configurations](https://beheer.unipage.eu/deeplink/instellingen/pos-deployments), in the settings of your configuration. There are five layouts:

- **Sales buffer above categories** (Verkoopbuffer boven categorieën) (default): the buffer stops above the category bar, which runs across the full width.
- **Sales buffer full height** (Verkoopbuffer volledige hoogte): the buffer runs the full height of the screen.
- **Sales buffer with numpad** (Verkoopbuffer met numpad): full height, with a numpad below the buffer.
- **Vertical categories**: categories in a vertical column, products in the middle.
- **Vertical categories with numpad**: vertical categories, with a numpad below the buffer.

Every layout comes in a **left** and a **right** version: put the sales buffer on the side that works best for left-handed or right-handed staff.

You also set the display per configuration: **dark**, **light** or **automatic**, where the POS follows the user's preference. Popups such as the variation screen can even get their own colour mode, for example a dark POS with a light variation screen.
