# The Unipage self-order kiosk is GKS 2.0-certified: fiscally compliant at events, in theme parks and sports complexes

The Unipage self-order kiosk holds GKS 2.0 certification and works at any location with an internet connection, allowing festivals, theme parks, sports complexes and food truck markets to process payments in full fiscal compliance without a fixed register.

A traditional GKS 2.0 register is certified but fixed. The Unipage kiosk has the same certification and is flexible: as a permanent installation in a theme park or sports complex, or as a mobile device that moves to the next event.

Visitors order and pay themselves through the screen; orders go automatically to the kitchen and revenue is visible in real time via the cloud.

**At a glance:**

- The Unipage self-order kiosk is GKS 2.0-certified and may legally serve as a complete register system, including at temporary and recreation locations.
- It works as a permanent installation in theme parks and sports complexes, and as a mobile device at festivals and food truck markets.
- Every payment is registered fiscally via a built-in FDM 2.0 and transmitted to the FPS Finance.
- Visitors order and pay themselves; no extra register staff needed.
- For temporary events: rental options; for permanent locations: purchase or leasing.

## How does the certified kiosk differ from a traditional register?

A traditional GKS 2.0 register is fiscally compliant, but requires a counter and a staff member to enter each order. In a theme park or sports complex with multiple sales points, one employee per register quickly becomes a logistical challenge.

The Unipage kiosk solves this differently: visitors order and pay themselves through the screen. Place the device at the desired location, connect it to the internet and it does the rest. The GKS 2.0 certification stays active whether the kiosk is in a fixed snack bar or on a festival field.

## How does it work in practice?

Configure the menu via the cloud: products, prices, VAT rates. Once for a permanent location, or per event if you move the device. On-site, connect the kiosk to the internet and it is ready. Visitors choose through the screen, pay at the device and receive a receipt with a QR code — legal proof that the transaction was correctly registered.

Orders go automatically to the kitchen or kitchen display. Revenue is visible in real time. After the day or event, a complete daily report is ready for your accountant.

## Which locations and events is the certified kiosk relevant for?

Any location or event where on-site meals are sold and annual on-site revenue exceeds €25,000. This applies to both temporary and permanent locations:

- (Temporary) events: festivals, food truck markets, pop-up restaurants, sports events with catering
- Permanent recreation venues: theme parks, water parks, sports complexes, boulder centres, escape rooms with a cafeteria
- Seasonal locations: summer event grounds, Christmas markets, recreation domains open only in summer

The FPS Finance calculates the €25,000 threshold on the cumulative annual amount per operator, not per location. Not sure whether your situation exceeds the threshold? Have your accountant check it.

## Temporary or permanent: rent or buy?

For one-off or seasonal events, renting is the most logical choice: you pay for the period you need and support is included.

For permanent venues such as theme parks, sports complexes or boulder centres, purchase or leasing is the most common choice. The device is permanently installed, the menu is configured once and changes are made via the cloud. Unipage offers both options. More information on [the self-order kiosk page](https://unipage.be/en/kiosk).

### Can the kiosk be the only register system at an event or in a theme park?

Yes. The GKS 2.0 certification of the Unipage kiosk applies to temporary and permanent recreation locations. You do not need a separate traditional register. Every payment is fiscally correct via the built-in FDM 2.0.

### Is a GKS 2.0-certified system mandatory in a theme park or sports complex?

That depends on annual on-site revenue. If you exceed the €25,000 threshold for meals consumed on the premises, a certified system is legally required. The obligation applies to total on-site revenue, not per sales point separately.

### Can the same kiosk be used at multiple locations or events?

Yes. The kiosk is flexible. Configure the menu per location or per event via the cloud. The GKS 2.0 certification stays active wherever you use the device.

### Does a pop-up restaurant also need a certified system?

Yes, if the cumulative annual on-site revenue exceeds €25,000. A pop-up is subject to the same GKS 2.0 rules as a permanent business: the obligation depends on the annual threshold, not the duration of the location.

### What if the internet goes down at my location or event?

Without a connection, the kiosk temporarily cannot register transactions fiscally. Ensure a 4G backup or reliable Wi-Fi. Planning an event in a remote area? Discuss this with Unipage in advance.

### How does VAT work at a recreation venue or event?

The same rules as in a permanent catering business: food at 6% VAT, drinks at 21%. The kiosk calculates this automatically per product and per VAT rate. You receive a daily report ready for your VAT return.
